I love the open world aspect of this game

A game that hasn't aged all that well. The pacing is likely too slow for a modern kid.

Pros:
Game plays okay

Luck of the draw if this will run properly on your computer.
Default controls are strange and confusing to change.
Open world can make it hard to find objectives

Everytime I pick up the lightning tokens it plays the same sound effect "Kachow" which I find funny, therefor I believe GOTY even though it's 20 years too late.

such an amazing nostalgia trip from my childhood, coming home from school and just sitting and playing this for the rest of the day even though i had homework and i didn't do it :))))))))))

i played the full story and got all 250/250 trophies that you could get and had fun while also having this nostalgia trip, i'm glad i bought it such a cool and nostalgic game.

If it doesnt crash trying to get into the game, it will crash unplugging anyting from your computer, then when it finally works (after finding a modder patch) the game will also damage your save file nearly everytime you leave the game and try to load in. still fun but is only half a game when it barely works

also 2 player puts both controllers to the same car and one stuck at the line

very disappointing as is an amazing game from my childhood but terriblely ported

The controls for this game are horrible and dint work, either for the keyboard or the controller!

It is extremely unfortunate this game didn't work for me. This is one of my favorite childhood games, but the pc version is just unplayable... Had to refund because no matter what I did the controls would not work, the community layouts didn't work and I spent a longass time trying to rebind them to no avail. Also, the game did not save my progress after quitting out.

Even if the game is incredibly fun, I would heavily recommend Mater National over this one, its just a better version of this game.

This was one of my favorite videogames when I was little.
My dad once downloaded it for me when I came home from preschool and since I loved the Cars movie, I was absolutely excited. It's one of the core memories that will probably stay with me for the rest of my life. :D
This game holds so many memories, that even tho I don't enjoy it that much now, I have to 10/10 recommend it.

Revisiting a game I played as a child, incredibly fun game, the controls are very iffy for the PC and particularly the tractor tipping minigame does require a degree from Harvard and Cambridge in order to complete it fully. The control woes are kind of expected, the game is from 2006 after all. Incredibly fun and has a lot of scenes from the movie itself, quite a nostalgic game but I would definitely recommend this game to others, it's surprisingly fun.

Didnt face issues running it on new hardware but the gameplay is boring af

I first played this game way back when it came out in 2006. Very easygoing and fun to play. I recommend.

such good memories with this game, i found it on steam and instantly bought it, 100% worth it.

The game is great for kids because it’s easy to play and feels just like the movie. There are many races and challenges to enjoy, and you can even drive freely around the town.
However, the game has some downsides. The graphics are outdated, and the racing can feel repetitive.

Cars 1 is probaliy my most watched movie and its not even close. I saw all the time when i was a small child and this film still holds up today (exept if you think about how the car universe actully works).
