Fernbus Simulator

This game is a scam. Performance is terrible, features like triple screen look pretty much unfinished.
This is more like an "early access" game than a full launched.

This has to be among the worst driving "simulators" I've ever played.
This still feels as though it's an Early Access demo.

Other than the size of the map, everything else is appalling!

It's hard to even know where to start with this review, because it's beyond me how this has ever even been considered past the "Early Access" stage. I hate criticizing something without explaining why I am. I'm always trying to see a different angle, because I don't know everything, and experiences vary greatly from person to person.

Maybe, when I was younger, before I have gained lots of driving experience, I would have really enjoyed this. But as it is, I don't understand how this can even fall within the "simulator" category. No, let me correct that, it simulates turning on a few buttons to make sure you have lights, ac, engine on/off... but that is as far as the simulation goes. It also simulates you turning and pressing on a pedal for gas/brake.

The actual DRIVING part of the simulation is pretty much one of the worse-feeling experiences I have EVER played. And I've played so many driving games, since the mid 90's.. from simulators, to arcade games. Even games like Midtown Madness felt better than this.

I've never once in my life felt motion sickness. I am extremely hardy for that. I actually very much enjoy lot's of movement. This is the first game that has ever made me feel a little bit of a hint of motion sickness. The way the buses just bounce and sway to an extreme degree.. I hate this game!

I'm extremely lenient when it comes to expectations of traffic a.i., or pedestrian animations. I'm also very "ok" with old games, or graphics that are indie, or very budget. I won't criticize the use of the Unreal Engine, because I understand the budget constraints. But the streets are barren, feel extremely empty and copy/pasted. It feels like driving in an dead empty world, like a pre-release tech demo just to test out the driving and overall 'feel' of the game before they move on to the meat of it.

Everyone can argue what they believe to be "good" or "bad" physics, because how do you accurately try and convey REAL physics (acceleration, braking, tires, road surface) on a 2D screen, sitting on a still chair?
We can argue that all day long, but I've taken coaches many times. I often sit around the front, because I enjoy the drivers perspective. I've also spend years driving various types of vehicles, from cube trucks to cars. I can promise that buses don't bounce and sway like this.

This game functions in the opposite way a suspension functions. The whole point of a suspension, is to help create the most stable driving experience possible. Dampen bumps, road harshness and uneven surfaces... not ONLY for your comfort, but for the actual security of the passengers.

In this game, the suspension feels like the opposite. Instead of actively dampening the road bumps and creating a stable platform, it acts like a boat on waves, throwing the bus sideways up and down...
...maybe to induce vomiting?


I apologize if my review cannot be more constructive. This game isn't new anymore. It's been out for a very long time, and the devs have moved over to other projects. I find it a real shame that a game with this potential, was left in such a poor state.

The game would be massively helped if they put more effort into the map design and physics. It aims to be a hyper realistic driving sim, but slopes don't change the behaviour of the bus. The map also feels... neglected at times, with the traffic light cycles being extremely frustrating, and unrealistic. Also all but like 3 busses are DLC which is absolutely absurd.

Great game and Love the football Add On to this already amazing game! Well done on making this game.

I have faced certain problems:_
1)My laptop is dell inspiron 7501and i am not able to put epic graphics so please email me if any solutions you developers have
2)if i tried to put resloution as1920*1080,then the game crashes i do not no why in laptop it happens and not in pc
3)Please also give a guide manual if certain problem persist

I tried liking this game but with the bad graphics, bad performance, awful physics, bad map design, bad UI, and the brainless AI, I just could not enjoy this game.

Fern Bus use too be a great sim,but after last update it keeps CRASHING.Please fix this.

No full controller support which is a must, DEVELOPER please add FULL CONTROLLER support its complete mess if playing with controller and this game is on PS5 so you can add full controller.

The game has potential, but the devs have completely messed it up from top to bottom – everything from the UI to the controls to the optimization. The game costs 30 euros, and all you get are two completely basic buses and nothing else for the price. If you just want one more bus, you have to pay who knows how much extra. The game isn't optimized. There are so many bugs.

2) Burning your PC and entire house

The premise is great, but the game fails.

Totally worth the 30€! Fernbus Simulator has become one of my favorite games and the endless amount of routes makes it feel like the first time everytime you play! Amazing graphics and physics! Would buy it again!

This is an excellent simulation game and it performs well on my PC, but I did have to play around with settings in-game and in the NVIDIA control panel to get the balance of clarity, fps, and quality with which I was happy.

I was hesitant to purchase it at first because I read forum posts dismissing it harshly, typically on the basis of performance. Performance has been excellent for me. Do note that I have only played the game since the UE5 update, I have a more recent model gaming PC, and I am good with figuring out optimal settings.

The graphics are higher quality, more like Train Sim World 4/5 than Euro Truck Sim/ATS. Fernbus performs significantly better for me than Train Sim World 5. Train sims with a 1:1 route scale are known for being highly demanding on PCs, so for Fernbus Simulator to use a 1:5 scale and high end graphics means it won't run well on many folks' hardware. I love all the aforementioned games (I've played ETS the most), but I don't think it's reasonable to expect the same performance between them without having quite strong hardware and being willing to configure your PC, GPU, and in-game settings.

The gameplay is delightfully self-directed and sandbox; it lends itself well to creative solo roleplaying and setting one's own goals.

It is well worth your time if you enjoy driving simulation games in European settings and have a powerful enough PC.

Its really good and the graphic are amazing (for me)

it's a joy to transport passengers across the country.
if you can cope with some bad design, clunky UI and bugs, this game can also be pretty advanced in terms of graphics and game design, it's fun after all.

the DLCs can become pretty expensive, so better think twice, what you really want.

Too slow even for a 4080... WTF !

Had hoped to enjoy driving around multiple cities and bought all the packs.

Finally had to ask for all of these to be refunded.

With the current state of this game with bad performance, I cannot recommend it to anyone else.

ENG: If you wanna become a Coach bus driver this game is great. You can learn what will approach you when your a coach bus driver, There are also lots of beatifull places. There are also DLCs whit which you can Unlock busses and also Countrys.

After i bought this game i found out all the buses almost cost money dont recomend the price

So, ten hours in, and what can I say? It's a tentative yes. This game is chilling and relaxing, but it has many, many, many limitations. Don't expect a huge world of modding, like ETS2. Sure, there are a few reskins, but that's it.

So how's it run and what's it like?

I got the game working with my G923 very easily. The FOV can go up to 120, which enables you to see both mirrors, with the compromise being that you're not close to the dashboard. The passenger system is not as complex as the system in "The Bus", and it soon becomes a chore. Graphically, I have everything on epic, running full screen at 4k. I noticed a few stutters on the first play, but I put that down to assets being unpacked, because the stutters have gone. The graphics are acceptable - this is an old game, after all - but they won't set your world alight. Kind of in between the vanilla ETS2 cities and those of "The Bus". But a lot better than OMSI. The rain has nice effects - similar to "The Bus". Things go wrong with the coach, but your only options are to turn them off (like the bus wifi or the toilet). You don't get to repair them. The roads are similar to ETS2 - compressed to a scale - in this case, 1/10th, I think - though I can't vouch for any of the accuracy. The base game will give you access to two MAN buses - one with two axles, one with three - and that's your lot. Want another bus? Be prepared to purchase some DLC. The traffic AI is dense. As dense as vanilla ETS2. And there are no mods to improve it. Set the traffic density too high, and there are non-stop traffic jams. You're in a side road? No chance of getting out - not without just driving through the traffic.

The gameplay consists mainly of you plotting out a route from an unlocked bus stop to either an unlocked bus stop or a locked one. You unlock the stops when you stop at them. You can make the routes short or long - up to you. And you'll receive points once you complete the route. Things like being caught speeding, or bad driving, will reduce your points.

I don't expect this game will ever receive any complex mods, so it is what it is. Something to while away the time. Is it worth £25? Probably not. Certainly not without a diverse modding community - which it doesn't have. The DLC will add something to the game, but much of it is also priced too high. Unless you've got money to burn, maybe get it on a sale. But keep your expectations moderate. Though perhaps it might be better to buy "The Bus", which has long routes, 1-1 scale around Berlin, and hope that, like with OMSI, the modding community gets interested.

Manage to download this game fine, but for some reason when I want to play it, it doesn't come off the loading page, just stays there the whole time, no matter how long I leave it for. It says I've played the game for 1.8 hours but I actually haven't played one minute of it, just stared at the loading screen...
Not sure if this is a bug or what, because I know it's not frozen as the loading dots in the corner are still moving.
Don't know what I can do to get it to work...... Would prefer if I could actually play the game and not have just wasted my money...

OMSI 2 meets ETS 2

- Graphics look bad
- Controls are not state of the art
- only controllers with max. 32 buttons are recognized
- not fun

It's a brilliant game; so much to do! There are so many different DLCs which means you can drive so many different coaches. The DLCs also layer in to Tourist Bus Simulator so you effectively get 2 DLCs for the price of 1. I originally only had TBS and I bought 1 DLC. I bought Fernbus a few days ago while it was on sale and I enjoyed it so much I bought an additional 3 DLC; definitely worth it, especially since everything was still on sale. However, there 1 bus that has 3 slightly different variants and they are all sold differently at the normal price for a DLC! Not acceptable...
