Sincerely my favorite thing ever. I played it to death on Switch, then PC, then I added a ton of mods and it feels like the first time all over again. Just an incredible piece of art with super interesting characters, a stunning art style, and the most passionate creator I've ever witnessed.

I seriously love every single aspect of this game, especially the combat, which was pretty shocking to me. I typically despise combat, even when it's super easy, since I just get super stressed and upset even if I win. it never feels satisfying to me, except in Stardew. it's not super complex, but I love the amount of strategy that you can put into it, preparing foods with buffs, special weapons, or wearing better rings or boots. combat isn't even mandatory, mind you, I just find it surprisingly enjoyable.

The best part of Stardew is that it can be whatever you want. I really enjoy minmaxxing every aspect of the game (prioritizing efficiency and maximizing profit), but I've also had playthroughs where I only farm or fish or interact with characters and it's just as fun, if not more for the sake of variety. This is seriously the ideal game for perfectionists, though. The official wiki is insanely detailed and the in-game menu tabs have neatly organized collections with all the information you could want.

As someone who has over 1500 hours between PC and Switch, has beaten the game to Perfection twice, and listens to the soundtrack on a daily basis: please play this game. Once you do, please also look into the developer of the game, Eric Barone. He is my idol and I desperately need more people to know and support him. <333

an immersive yet cozy game that's hard not to adore. with or without mods, there's much to see and explore. easily one of the best games to come out in the 2010s in my opinion.

4/10 it's really boring. everything is just so happy all the time. and barely anything else. I bought this game recommended from friends, and kept playing trying to enjoy it, but it just felt so dull. a lot of the characters are one-note, just sticking to their core personality trait and having barely anything beyond that. along with a repetitive game play loop, that refuses to deviate much.

the only time the game isn't so happy is when you actively try to be a jackass, like giving garbage to people almost every day, or dumpster diving in front of them. but even then, they just immediately forgive and forget. the only not-so-happy thing in the game is the "big bad corporation" that feels so poorly shoved in there, it doesn't do anything. and most of the time the game completely forgets it's there. almost as if the game is apologizing for having the slightest bit of emotion besides happy.

on top of that, the gameplay can be summed up as "go get stuff -> sell stuff -> buy seeds -> wait way too long for said seeds to grow -> get crops -> sell crops -> buy/get upgrades to get more stuff -> rinse and repeat" it gets dull really fast. there are side quests, but most of them are just "get specific thing". and if you're really lucky, you'll be able to do a festival. which just boil down to, do a limited time task, or watch a lame animation.


TLDR; imagine the premise of barney the dinosaur, put into a farming sim. that's this game.

After 100 hours of playing together with my best friend, he divorced me and went on the next day to marry another woman and have a child with her in OUR house.

The game drew inspiration from Terraria, and offers a farming experience, on the surface. While playing, you discover a multitude of different things you can do, that include gaining new tools, and getting to explore more and more of the game. Literally.

Great game, I would recommend. If you are a fan of a farmer turned jack of all trades, with lore sprinkled throughout the game, and hints about anything that is needed to reach 100% completion, you should enjoy this game too.

I just got this game 3 days ago and have already put in many hours. The game is very enjoyable and relaxing to play. There's a ton to do in each game day and you won't feel that things are repetitive as there's always challenges to work towards. Overall great game and 10/10 recommend.

I'm still at the beginning of my journey in the Valley but I already love it to bits! It's a relaxing game that really lets you immerse yourself into the world of Stardew Valley. I play it whenever I have a bit of time and my progress is slow, but it is extremely wholesome. The mods make it even better however as you can add little perks to the game and even to the characters. Stardew Valley really unwinds me whenever I feel a little bit deflated from life

I have played this game over 10 different save files for nearly 1800 hours on PC and over 1500 hours on the Switch. I hope that speaks for itself!

Stardew valley is probably one of the best games that I have ever played, I will always have a spot in my heart for Stardew, It has so much to do compared to a lot of games and you can play it in any way you want

Whoever said Stardew was a cozy game is a liar. My notebooks full of townie schedules and best farming techniques says otherwise.

I just want to share some good memories I have with this game.
It was 2023 when I was introduced to this game by my ex girlfriend and we played together. She hosted the game. It was honestly one of the best gaming moments for me ever, and till now I still remember all sweet things in the past: Her, the game, and playing the game with her. We were all noobies and barely know how to progress or make money, and we kept getting hungry and exhausted 🤣. After letting our crops die in summer and dying in the cave multiple times ourselves 🤣, we slowly learned how to play, making just enough to get by, upgrade tools and the farmhouse. Then we divided the roles and tasks... me being Noel the miner/fisher who did the caving and Ginger Island and her being the cutie farmer girl that she was, raising animals, harvesting crops and socializing/helping the villagers with their requests. The game was so happy, funny and relaxing. It was progressing at a steady slow pace, but that only means more quality time for us two goofballs to spend together... All the precious memories which I will hold dear in my heart forever.
Sadly, all good things come to an end. Through time, we progressed and achieved almost everything in the game, Almost. It was only an "Almost". We broke up, fortunately on good terms. We still talk occasionally, maybe just wanting to check out on each other. The game remains incomplete, unfinished and so does our love story. Now, everytime I just want to be reminiscing, I will play Stardew for a while...
Sometimes it's just really hard to keep yourself together when the music of this game seems to just wanting to shatter you with nostalgia..., so I pour myself a bittersweet cup of coffee, gaze through my window and think about my once dearest, most beloved/cherished girl and the first farm which we built together alongside with the memories, both of which I used to hold close to my heart, now far gone, lying beyond the horizon...

One of the best games at what it does. The game is amazing and feels very welcoming on a first time playthrough and is even more fun on subsequent playthroughs. This game can offer one of the most stressful experiences with several tabs open at once, or a relaxing laid back fun little farming game depending on how you play it with no pressure for either route and I find that really valuable in a game. No play style or approach feels forced, no matter what you do, you are bound to progress but it also doesn't just hand it to you. Every single character feels real and unique, and the story is implemented so well. You can completely ignore the story and still get everything out of the game. I mean it when I say absolutely nothing feels forced aside from some fishing quests though there are some fun ways to cheese these and they're nothing intense anyway. There really is not anything negative I can say about this game except for how addicted I get to this game. The game does slow down and you lose much to do after perfection however this takes 10s-100s of hours so I find it a little silly to count it as a con, you are getting far more than you paid for at $15. Doesn't even matter if it is on sale, it is an instant buy from me.

0/10 wouldn't recommend it unless you enjoy losing all your time. It's ridiculous how every day in the game makes you say "just one more day" until you realize it's already a day in the real world.

But seriously, this game is a masterpiece.

That was 7 years ago. I now have a farm more organized than my real life, a digital wife who loves me unconditionally, and a shed filled with 300 jars of ancient fruit wine. I don't know what day of the week it is in real life, but I can tell you exactly when the traveling cart shows up in the Valley.

Stardew Valley has so much shit to do and is built just right where i want to min/max every second. But combine this with the stupid fast day timer, the energy mechanic, friendships (that deteriorate over time), slow movement speed, and the fucking community center, it feels like this game is made to be stressful, not relaxing (at least for me). Half of my playtime is me planning out what to do on the wiki while having the game paused. It's like a worse second life.

Stardew Valley is a game I always come back to. The concept is simple—taking over a farm and making it thrive, but there’s a lot of depth in how you go about it. You can farm, fish, mine, and build relationships with the townspeople, and the game gives you a lot of freedom in how to spend your time. The art is simple but nice, and the music adds to the relaxing atmosphere. That said, the time system can sometimes stress me out, especially when I’m trying to fit everything in before the day ends. Despite that, it’s easy to get lost in, and I always find myself coming back for more, whether it's to relax or work on the next big project.

A wholesome farming/life sim where you tame wilderness, build a community, and craft your rural paradise. Charming pixel art, endless customization, and soothing gameplay—forever addictive. 🌾🐄

I think Stardew Valley is the best game I have ever played. Not only because the happiness and satisfaction I have gained in it, but also the inner peace it brings to me. I used to dissatisfied with myself. I thought i will never change this flaw. But in this game, i try to slow down my pace. i told myself to enjoy the current time and things i'm doing. And that's the first time i truly gain the "slow" joy. Then i find even i do things slowly, i finally make perfect with 152h in my first archive(273h totally). Though i can't totally slow my mind down and make perfect in my real life. i think this is a wonderful first experience. When i achieve my next important goal, i will begin a new archive.

My 54 year old father loved discovering this game and texted me about finding it and how amazing the creator is, and I got to tell him I have over 1000 hours played on my switch. 12/10

This game has me hooked, my perfectionism gets the best of me, all my current hours are dedicated to one farm only. 3 in game years in and I've only scratched the surface. 10/10 bo0ms

Stardew Valley is a farming RPG that is fun in concept, but in my experience unfortunately not in actual gameplay.

This is one of the instances where I wish I could give a mixed review, however as my experience has been more negative than positive, this will have to do.

The game is fun for the first couple of hours, but as a game mainly consisting of routine, it gets rather repetitive as time goes on. You wake up, are able to do the same three things every single day before the day is over, and then it just starts all over again.

This leads me to the point of the time management and day cycles being just short of horrible. As the days are over too quickly to get much done, the days end up being foo fast paced while the overall progress is too slow paced. It takes too long to achieve anything at all, and it’s therefore too much of a grind for me.

Having to watch the stamina bar, health bar and the time at almost all times turns a game mainly advertised as cozy into quite the stressful experience.

Another issue I personally have within the game are the eye straining graphics & coloring. I’m aware that the game has its own stylistic elements, however I can’t play the game for more than roughly two hours at a time before the headache sets in.

A lot of these issues can be fixed through the use of mods, however I’m not a fan of having to use mods in order to deem a game as playable while ignoring the flawed aspects of the game.

I can sort of understand how Stardew Valley might be fun and fulfilling to some, especially if they have a lot of time on their hands, but for me, the game is just too stressful and unrewarding to actually have fun.

The NPCs and the concept of the dating sim were what had initially awakened my interest in the game, and as far as the NPCs’ designs go, I can’t complain. However, all of them have fairly limited dialogue and interaction options. This gets noticeable after just a quite short time of playing and only adds onto the repetitive aspect of the game.

I might pick the game up again in the future in order to try to 100% complete a farm, but that would probably take a while as I would just lose motivation over and over again.

For the price, I feel it’s worth to give Stardew Valley a try and see whether the game is suitable for you or not, however in my case, this game ended up not being as fun as advertised.

My acquaintance with games in this setting began with a mobile game, similar to Stardew Valley on a mobile device. The craft had a lot more grind mechanics and often reduced people to donations. The similarity is striking, but what is even more striking is that SV is a much more balanced and enjoyable game in this regard. I love it! I played critically little for a review, but due to the similarity, I understand all the further action that will unfold in the game. A very slow, measured and gentle game that wraps you in pleasant childhood emotions, if, of course, you have been to your grandfather's farm. A way to relax and escape from the routine, hide from the crazy flow of time together with the pleasant company of SV. I am surprised that there is still no multiplayer and sincerely hope that the author will be able to implement it, thereby we will all visit each other's valleys and make this community even closer. I definitely recommend it and hope that you can find harmony and tranquility in the valley.

I LOVE this game! It's perfect in so many ways and one of my favourite games out there. It honestly took me a bit to get into it, because you have a lot of work to do to substain yourself in the first year, but it was worth it and it only gets better. I also love, that the townies got new winter outfits last patch and I hope they will get a outfit for every season someday. I really adore little details like that and the game has so many of them, you really notice it's made with love and passion! Thank you so much ConcernedApe!!

Its a very casual game wihich is perfect for a person who wants to relax and play a video game that won't get you more stressed after 8 hours of work.

I dont have a whole lot of time in this game yet. but i will say its great so far. and its really relatable to how real life is if you're a man living in the united states when you really think about it. You find ways to make money just to wind up spending it on things you don't really need, you do all the yard work by yourself. People are constantly bothering you if you can do this thing or that thing for them, the only way you can make any real friends is if you buy them stuff all the time, and you will eventually wind up getting married where you end up with a sex deprived relationship with your wife, and the before mentioned friends say about one to two sentences when you talk to them because youre not worth their time for a longer conversation.

Really is a lot deeper of a game than first meets the eyes. Solid 10/10 American male simulation game.

You inherit this farm from your grandfather (who apparently thought "farming" was a hobby), and now it's up to you to turn it into something that isn’t a total disaster. Plant crops, take care of animals, and figure out if it's worth watering those tomatoes or just chilling with a cup of tea on the porch.
The graphics? Not groundbreaking, but they're charming in a nostalgic, "this feels cozy" kind of way. There are no annoying cars, no neighbors complaining about your trash, and no bosses demanding you stay late. Just a peaceful world with some crops, a few chickens that couldn't care less about your life, and a general vibe of "yeah, this is the world I want to live in."
But don't think Stardew Valley is just about farming. No, no — if you're ever tired of watering plants and picking vegetables, you can always head to the mines and fight off some weird rock monsters. It's like a local amusement park, except the rollercoaster is a pickaxe and the thrill comes from dodging giant bugs and collecting rare ores.
Not feeling the mines? No problem! You can hang out with the locals, who are as quirky as the landscape. There’s always someone to chat with, or even romance if you’re feeling bold (don’t worry, the game doesn't judge). Sure, you won’t be hitting the city for dinner anytime soon, but you’ll have a farm full of animals and a bunch of new friendships.
In short, Stardew Valley is the perfect game to relax and forget about the real world. There are no deadlines, no stress, just you, your farm, and a bunch of activities where you can be the best farmer around. And if you want a little action, you can always visit the mines and get lost fighting monsters. Or, you know, just remember to water your plants once in a while.
Perfect for when life’s got you down and all you want is some dirt under your nails and a little peace in the virtual countryside. Plus, it's got a wholesome vibe that even the busiest of "I need my coffee" people can appreciate.

This is the best. 10 out of 10. it is super relaxing and fun. there is lots and lots of new things to explore! I like the mine the most, mostly when with family. it seems this game is really popular. 5/5 stars.

As a long-time fan of the Harvest Moon series growing up, I was surprised it took me so long to come around to playing Stardew, but I couldn't put the game down once I had. The game absolutely OOZES with charm and is a wonderful game to either relax and turn your brain off to or boot up when you want to lock-in and absolutely plan/organize your farming empire.

The farming mechanics are fun and easy to pick up as well as the surprising, but fun, inclusion of combat once you start to delve into the mines!

The graphics are charming and vibrant with an equally vibrant cast of npcs! Characters to befriend, romance, and experience the different seasons and see the community grow as you stay in Pelican Town.

I also can't gush enough about my love and appreciate for the dev for the hard work they put into this game as well as the countless free updates and content. It's rare to see now a days and it's so heartwarming to continue to get to enjoy such quality work.

Not only is the vanilla game spectacular, but the mod community is also a joy! Super easy to set up and enhance your experience!

This game has taken a strain on my soul. I have had nightmares about not having enough rhubarb planted. if you can play and not care about 100%. It is a amazing chill game. If you have the 100% itch. Don't play. Avoid this game. Run from this game.

wow, what can I say that hasn’t already been said. At first I was just a dude that didn’t think Stardew Valley would be for me but then my girlfriend bought it on the Steam spring sale and I decided to give it a try with her. Turns out this is one of the best games iv ever played! Stardew Valley is an absolute gem, and playing it with my girlfriend has made the experience even more memorable. The game’s charm lies in its simplicity, but it offers endless possibilities, especially when you’re sharing it with someone special. From tending to the farm, raising animals, and growing crops, to exploring caves and participating in town events, there’s always something fun to do together.

The perfect balance of routine and free spirit creativity. There are so many options on what to do in this game, I never find myself getting bored. From the big game milestones like finishing the community centre and reaching the bottom of the skull cavern, to the little side quests and other favours you lend to the citizens of the valley - you always somehow get an item you need that progresses you more in some sort of way, which is rewarding and keeps you playing.
I've played Stardew across a couple platforms, and each time I get to enjoy it over and over again.

My boyfriend bought me this game for my birthday around the time we started dating. I am very picky with games so when he kept trying to tell me that I'll like it, I honestly didn't believe him.

He's right, though. He's always right about what games I'll like...

Every once in a while i find myself playing this nearly every day after work. i get home and i already have like 5 stardew wiki pages open. although I do tend to get a little bored after completing the community center and then i just start another save....

But! I am trying to 100% the game, so wish me luck :)
