Okay, so, I'm not going to make this review as to sorely focus on how good the game is, (even if it is still a good game in my opinion,) rather, I want to tell you what to expect from this game for those going in it for the first time. First off, this game is like I said, good. Mickey feels smooth to control, the level designs are good, (if sometimes a little jank,) but still good nonetheless. Second, this game is really short. If you play this game in one session, it'll take you around 2-ish hours to beat it, (excluding the extra collectables and completionist stuff,) so remember that before going into this game completely blind. Though, overall, this game is great, and I would 100% recommend it if you want a relaxed, simple gaming experience that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's clear Sega put a lot of love and care into this reimagined Genesis classic, so please check it out while it's on sale. Just make sure you know what your getting into with this game, rather than diving headfirst with unrealistic expections.

Super short game that reminds me of watching films as a kid.

Solid remake of Castle of Illusion and I loved it. I would recommend this game on sale however, I personally think that $15 is a little to much for how much content you're getting. I completed this game in about 3 hours and could probably 100% it, in about 10 hours. Remembered seeing lets plays of this game when I was very little. The nostalgia kicked in, and I decided to buy it when it was on sale. Its well, a 2D/3D platformer and boss rush of the famous: Mr. Micheal Mouse trying to save his Minnie. You dont really need a fancy computer to play this game or a lot of disk space to play this game it a high fps.

Some major complaints I have with this game is, you cant change from arrow keys to WASD you can only change it to ESDF. If you die, you cant skip cutscenes, and its especially annoying at the final boss. The platforming and hit boxes are a bit jarring and infuriating at worse. Especially at the Licorice Dragon boss fight, the weird camera angles and the jarring platforming made it more difficult than it need it to be, but you'll get used to it over time. However, this game is so charming! The backgrounds look straight out of paintings and they give me a liminal space feel. The level designs are quite nice, it is very satisfying to hit an enemy. They didn't need to go this hard on the soundtrack but it really fits the game well. I loved all of the boss fight designs and most of the fights as well, and the narrator was a nice touch. I really liked it when you go into different areas of the map and seeing all of the new platforms, enemy's and music.

I definitely recommend this game when is on sale and it's a nice addition to your library!

A really simple but great platformer. It's simple mechanics work well in this game's greatly designed levels. I like this game a lot but it is quite short. I recommend getting this when it is discounted for a relaxed collectathon platformer.

Solid remake of a classic Sega Genesis game. Controls well and has does change things up keeping each level unique!

I bought it but it doesn't actually work. I didn't check to see if it played properly when I bought it so I can't return it now. Overall I can't recommend something that you can't just download and play properly.

Amazing game, I loved trying to save Minnie Mouse as I held my Mickey Mouse body pillow through every stage. He believed in me like I believed in him.

Very beautiful game.

Yes I'd recommend this, but only if you have no access to the original. I think theres a lot of charm in the sprite work and sure the game was always a little precise I feel the 3D has messed that up a little, weird hitboxes and times of animations that throw you off as well as just processing a more complex space then the 2D plane you used to have.

Its not to say theres no improvements, and for me its been a bit weird, I started hating just about every change made, then by the second level it grew on me a bit but by the last actual level was slipping back into disliking those changes because it feels like you are playing levels not ever really made for 3D. The narrator and lines have some charm though often are way to wordy and he even cuts himself off at many points, same for the final boss fight where she does...and that fight is bordering on scripted, you can attack when you can and not before so how they messed up those timings and never caught it, is curious to say the least.

Part of me is a little sad that the quackshot remake never got approved, loved that game, a great underated metroidvania, and at least by the images release it looked to remain true to its 2D origins but just more in like with the cartoon. But then with the issues I mentioned above maybe its a good thing and I should just stick to replaying the original when I want.

i love this game

Man...this game is an awesome remake. I've played through this 3 times now (twice on Xbox and once on Steam) and it always feels like some nice comfort food. Great music, good level design, great graphics for the time that still hold up, and it's a nice short playthrough so it's extremely accessible for anyone.

I haven't played a ton of the original Genesis release but I do love some of the changes in this remake. Particularly, the inclusion of the 3D platforming movement sections is always a nice mix up to the gameplay. Huge recommend. Love this game.

Castle of Illusion es un plataformero sólido, lindo, muy bien animado y bastante corto con guiños a una época donde el diseño de juegos no estaba plagado de DLCs.

Si bien mantiene las mecánicas de plataformeo del Castle of Illusion de Sega Genesis, es decir, rebotar sobre enemigos y lanzar objetos en línea recta, agrega segmentos de navegación en 3D y la estructura del juego es la de un collect-a-thon mas de la época de la N64 o la Playstation.

El castillo de las ilusiones funciona como un Hub donde vamos desbloqueando niveles a medida que recolectamos cristales. En cualquier momento podemos volver a jugarlos para buscar algún cristalito que haya quedado en el tintero. Además tiene trajes que se desbloquean recolectando unos chiles de Donald. Como dije, un diseño bien de las primeras épocas del 3D.

Recomendado, especialmente si lo encuentran con un descuentillo porque es bastante corto.

Banjo and Kazooie but its Mickey Mouse and 2D

Oh the nostalgia. Although different from the original but still keeping that magic and nostalgic feeling. This is a must play if you have played the original. Feels almost like a sequel to the original.

This Game is an absolute delight, I remember playing it on the PS3 as a child and never making it past the second world with the Jack in the Box, when I rediscovered the game I played through it and had an absolutely wonderful time, the gameplay is very simple and the story isn't too grand, but it really doesn't need to be. This game is perfect for young and old gamers alike, the levels are interesting with fun illusion elements, the boss fights are all unique, and the unlockables let you roam the castle in fashionable attire ranging from the classic Mickey to a knight in shining armor.

One of the coolest mickey games and for a 2013 game the graphics are clean

This was a game from my childhood, i do find this game very charming in aesthetics and it's fun for kids and ages above, having decent platforming challenges and a lot of cool setpieces. While this game isn't very challenging (i completed it in about 2.8 hours) it's still such a fun nostalgic romp, good on Sega for making this remake.

This is a great re-imagining of a classic platformer. The game has tight controls and is all-around charming. The only negative thing i could say is that the game is a lot easier than it's older brother from the 90's. If you're into Disney and or Platformers, then give it a go! This one doesn't disappoint.

Um ótimo remake do original. Sua apresentação ajuda bastante a dar ideia de jogar um curta fantasioso do Mickey, o que já era o forte do jogo original e aqui é ainda melhor. Os únicos poréns são a falta de novidades e a baixa duração, o que me faz recomendar o jogo apenas em promoções.

There's so much better platformers out there. It's a very easy game and enemy's hit boxes seems way off. Once you get the game running properly by editing the game.exe properties or editing the config file, it feels like any indie devs first attempt at a platformer.
It felt way better on the Master System in 1991 😆
I only finished it because it was easily completed achievements.

Every time I try to play this game all I Get is a white screen and it wont go away this game is unplayable for me does anyone know how to fix this

I recommend it if you are looking for something very quick. The standout here is the levels, which are colorful and unique. The gameplay is very light, with mechanics that are familiar to anyone who has touched a game controller. You essentially jump and throw things while trying to get to the end of the stages. Total length is somewhere around the two hour mark I think, with some optional things to collect if you would like.
