this game is revolutionary

Fun game. Classic Worms action with good graphics and works on almost any decent machine. The Multiplayer aspect is great for groups/kids/etc. My kids and I get a lot of fun play together with this game.

For some reason, though obviously monetary, British developers Team17 decided in 2012 to prepare for players a new part of Worms, created from scratch, acquiring a new for the series engine Unity, thanks to which the worms and locations got three-dimensional forms. Let's see if the game will be able to impress the modern player?

Graphics
If on PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles the graphics looks acceptable, on PC it looks depressing, especially if you zoom in on the camera. Pale colors, everything is blurred, washed out, gray and unsophisticated. The situation is aggravated by the maps themselves: Some dull green sewers, dull sunny beaches, dull sunset farms. The situation could be better if the game had a map editor, but alas, we have what we have.

Gameplay and Innovation
Perhaps by revolution you mean physics and everything related to it. On the map there are various objects like giant wrenches and other such trash. They do not explode, but on the contrary, they are thrown away by a blast wave, can cover worms, and block them, clamping them in some corner. Such objects can be used as bridges and barriers. For this purpose even use “telekinesis” or “UFO”, thanks to which you can move the object to wherever the player wants, this is the first chip. The second is water, it can fill craters, and if the worm falls into it, it slowly sinks. Just in case you can not get out of such a pond, there is a special item for this purpose “Water Plug”, in which the water will drain into a black hole. Water can also flow down the slope, dragging the worms with itself, and for such cases also invented different weapons. Except that the water itself and its physics of flow resembles not like sour cream, not like transparent caviar. Its physics resembles anything but hydrogen oxide. I'm surprised that water doesn't conduct current, but it can put out fire, thank you very much. Yes, all these tricks have a place, but they do not change much in the basic gameplay, because everyone as used mainly Bazooka and Grenade, so they still use them.

Other aspects
Finally the “Revolution” is not at all the fact that worms can now be of different types. Heavy crawls slowly, but does a lot of damage; Scientist can heal its allies at the beginning of the round; Scout does little damage, but can move very fast. Not a bad innovation, but since the player initially has standard worms in the ranks, this feature is not particularly useful. It would be better if the developers added the number of places in the team, because the squad can be only 4 worms. When Worms 3D was released in its time, it also seriously cut down the arsenal, weapons and the maximum number of worms in the team, after returning to 2D the maximum number of worms remained at the same level. Only with the release of Worms W.M.D. did the developers bring back most of the weapon arsenal, including the ability to add up to 8 worms to a team, which was originally in Armageddon.
There are puzzles and a small campaign for single player, but it's all trivia, as most of the time not many people played them. Everyone was playing multiplayer. What's here? A meager match customization and three modes “Classic”, “Fight Without Rules” and “Strongholds”. And the first two are not much different from each other, and in the third mode, teams start in their pre-selected castle settings. Not a bad mode that puts the player in a non-standard situation.

Conclusion
Alas, Team17's revolution was rather weak. I can't say that this is one of the worst parts of Worms series, because the basic concept still works, it's very hard to ruin the formula, you can still enjoy the gameplay, but none of the above mentioned innovations makes the game better.

P.s. The most interesting thing is that Worms Revolution was developed with the help of the series' founding father back under the wing of Team17.

Family friendly, fun, turn based, animated game, of worms armies battling it out in a game of last worm standing.

While a good game, it's not the best Worms game. The introduction of fundamentally new concepts to worms, like worm types and on-map water should be a great addition, but it feels half-baked and clashes with the core feel and flow of Worms. Probably doesn't help that the 3D aesthetic is way less appealing than both the 2D and 3D games that came before.

If you have no other Worms game, this will suffice. But why would I play this if I have Worms Reloaded or Liero already installed?

A PlayStation Vita version called Worms Revolution Extreme was released on 8 October 2013. It features all the DLC from the console versions. It also features touchscreen controls, a cross-saving system and a cross-gifting feature called "Treasure Mode" where players can link up with the Vita or PS3 to unlock ten special gifts using the lock and key system.

Arguably the best worms games ever made if you play with your friends change my mind.
